The Village of Pinehurst has been recognized as a Digital City (2017, 2018, 2019) by the Center for Digital Government.  The Digital Cities Survey recognizes cities using technology to improve citizen services, enhance transparency, and encourage citizen engagement.  The Village of Pinehurst won second place in the "fewer than 75,000" category.  The Village was recognized in particular for its Financial Transparency Center, online civic engagement forum, Open Village Hall, mobile app "MY VOP", mobile-friendly website, and efforts over the last year toward increasing citizen engagement.
