Feel the magic of Christmas as we kick off the holiday season with our annual tree lighting celebration. Join in on the Christmas fun Friday, December 3 from 5:00pm-7:30pm in Tufts Memorial Park and don't miss the countdown to lighting the tree at 6:30pm. Santa will be in town so hop in line to get a free professional picture taken by John Gessner Photography. Don't forget to bring your Christmas list to drop in Santa's mailbox to be taken back to the North Pole. Make it on the nice list and you may even get a letter back from Santa himself!
The U.S. Women's Open is sponsoring a new activity this year and is getting the downtown businesses involved. Kids 12 and younger are invited to pick up a Christmas passport at the green Village of Pinehurst tent in Tufts Park. Travel around to all the businesses on the passport and collect a treat at each stop. Admission to the event is free but vendors will be on-site with food & beverages available for purchase.
Worried about finding parking? A free shuttle service will be offered from the Cannon Park Community Center to the heart of downtown thanks to Kirk Tours & Limousines from the start of the event until 8:00pm.
Thanks to Carrie Kirby with Premier Real Estate of the Sandhills, you can also take a free professional picture with Santa before the Christmas Tree Lighting. Santa and John Gessner Photography will be at Timmel Pavilion in the Village Arboretum on Monday, November 29 from 3:00pm-7:00pm.
