The Village of Pinehurst Police Department invites the community to join them for a cup of coffee and casual conversation. Coffee with a Cop is Tuesday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Starbucks located at 305 Ivey Ln., in Pinehurst.

This event is an opportunity for the public to get to know their local law enforcement officers in a setting outside of an emergency.

“Oftentimes the public interacts with law enforcement during stressful situations, and that’s probably not the best time to ask questions or get to know each other,” said Chief Webb. “Having a casual conversation over a cup of coffee can help strengthen the relationships we have with the community we serve.”

Newly sworn Captain Justin Guthrie will be at the event and is ready to introduce himself to residents of the Village.

“I look forward to meeting members of our community face-to-face,” said Captain Guthrie. “I want residents to get to know me, and I want to hear what concerns they have.”
