On Friday, December 2, gather with family, friends and neighbors as the Village of Pinehurst hosts its annual Christmas Tree Lighting event at Tufts Memorial Park in the village center. Through songs, dance, and interactive activities, classic Christmas tales will be brought to life in a fun and festive way. Join us and help bring downtown Pinehurst alive with the holiday spirit!
The evening will include on-stage musical performances, scenic hay rides through the Village Center, cookie decorating, photos with Santa Claus, and candlelight caroling. Drop your holiday wish list in Santa’s mailbox – no postage required! On this magical evening you may encounter the Grinch, Ebenezer Scrooge, a toy soldier, or Jack Frost strolling through the Village Green. A new addition to this year’s festivities is a Lego Design Contest where Lego enthusiasts can enter their Christmas-themed designs.
Event hours are 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. with the lighting of the tree scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, but food and beverages will be available for purchase. Canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (Sandhills Chapter).
Interested in volunteering at this community event? A volunteer information meeting will be hosted on Thursday, November 17th at 5:30 p.m. at the Fair Barn.
