Splash Pad Grand Opening

The Village of Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 for the newest amenity to Rassie Wicker Park, a zero-depth, 2,500 square-foot splash pad; the first of its kind in Moore County.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 PM followed by fun and games scheduled until 6:00 PM.  Numbered wristbands will be given to all attendees and groups of 100 will be allowed on the pad at a time. The amount of time allowed will be determined by the number of attendees.

The splash pad will have multiple water features for families to enjoy including floor geysers, a big bucket water dump, and rain shower curtain.

Elsewhere in the park, attendees can enjoy an inflatable double lane slip n slide, rip curl water slide, or visit the Parks & Recreation Booth for a chance to win a fun, summer giveaway.

While there is no admission cost for the event or for the splash pad, celebrants may purchase food and beverages at the concession stand or a refreshing beverage from Kona Ice.

Some things to know before you go: Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
Water shoes or sandals are strongly encouraged. Also, we love pets, but they are not allowed in the splash pad area.

Beginning June 22, the Splash Pad will be open from 10AM-7PM daily through Labor Day weekend.
