One notable feature of the Village of Pinehurst is our team of active volunteers. Many of our residents serve the Village in countless ways by giving of their time and talents to better the community.
The Village of Pinehurst is recruiting volunteers for the following:
- Historic Preservation Committee
- Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
- Welcome Center
- Given Library Storytime Reader
- Neighborhood Advisory Committee (Doral Woods, East Midland Rd., Old Town West, Pinehurst South, and Pinehurst Trace)
- If you are interested in applying as a Citizen On Patrol (Citizens Police Academy) with our Police Department, please click here.
Those who have been residents of Pinehurst (or the extra-territorial jurisdiction) for at least 1 year, may apply to volunteer on any of the Council appointed boards/commissions.

Reward & Recognition Program
Volunteers for the Village of Pinehurst have been identified as a strategic advantage and a valuable resource for the community and the Village rewards and recognizes volunteers for their contributions and commitment.
Nominate a Village volunteer for the Champion's Club Award using this online form. All nominations received before February 28 will be considered for the current fiscal year.
Send an Applause Award today to thank a volunteer using this online form or pick up an Applause Card at all Village Hall, the Welcome Center, or other Village facilities. The Village Clerk will distribute the note to the designated volunteer in a timely manner.
Volunteer Training
The Village hosts an annual State of the Village Meeting to reinforce the VOP vision and mission, communicate strategic direction and initiatives, educate workforce on policies, and provide an opportunity for interaction and feedback between the workforce and the Senior Leadership Team.
